Hotel Accomodations in the Stanford Area
Scancor Autonomization Conference
April 1 - 2, 2005
Hello friends! Here is some information about your accommodation in the Stanford area. We have reserved rooms at two hotels, both very popular with Scancor visitors. The websites of these hotels can help you make your choice.
I want to emphasize that it is important to make your reservations as soon as possible. The rooms will be released to the public by 3 March, and after that date you might have difficulty finding a room. There is a 10% hotel tax in Palo Alto, which I have included in the rates that are quoted here.
Scancor will be covering the cost of your accommodation for two nights. Those of you who serve as discussants will be covered for one additional night (a total of three nights).
Hotel California, 2431 Ash Street, Palo Alto

This hotel is a perennial favorite because of its European ambiance. It’s a very friendly, B&B type of hotel with only 20 rooms. It is located in the “midtown” section of Palo Alto, a little south of the university. The Scancor rate is $86.35 per night, including tax. You should refer to the
“Scancor Conference” when making your reservation as we have booked a total of 17 rooms.
If you would like to stay here, I would suggest contacting them immediately, as this is a very popular hotel. For those of you who need to share a room, you should be aware that there is only one queen bed per room.
Cardinal Hotel, 235 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto

This is a 64-room hotel in the northern older part of Palo Alto that is within walking distance of campus and near coffee houses, restaurants, bookstores and shops. Check out the excellent web page for details about the hotel. This hotel is very popular because of it’s “retro” style and and central location. The rooms are around $110 per night, including tax.
You can make a reservation for the Scancor conference by going directly to this link which has been set up for us.
Barbara Beuche, administrator at Scancor, Stanford. Good luck!
